Message from the Principal

Kenyatta high school, Taita is 40 years old in 2010 and has over the years made enormous contribution in nurturing and shaping young minds in line with the motto:  Education for Service.

The school’s vision is: To be a leading centre of academic excellence, a school where academic excellence is the norm.  The schools mission is to train and equip students with knowledge, skills and correct attitudes through Discipline, Dedication and Determination (3ds) the teachers stress on holistic education -all round students.  The pastoral care programs form the core of the learning progress.  The success of the school is largely to following core values.

  •     Academic quality
  •     Professionalism
  •     Team work
  •     Integrity
  •     Courtesy
  •     Fidelity to law and procedures
  •     Continual improvement.

The school in collaboration with other stakeholders intend to be a centre of mathematics science, technology and innovation (STI) and more so ICT.  This is reflected in the diversified curriculum offered by the school which includes

  •     Computer studies
  •     French
  •     Wood work
  •     Metal work
  •     Agriculture
  •     Business studies.

However much the school has shaped and produced students of varied expertise, there still are challenges which threaten the school’s march towards academic excellence.  Some of these challenges are:

  •     Infrastructure  -  (dilapidated/rundown)
  •     Provision of enough water
  •     Payment of school fees – majority of our students come from poor      households – bright students need to be assisted.

As we continue to endeavour in producing excellent results we still require your assistance in whichever form.  May God bless us all.

Mr. Severin Tole

School Principal.
